Some of this year’s volunteers and participants following the event.
Well, the first annual Pennsylvania Kayak Fishing Association RiverFest Charity Kayak Fishing Tournament is in the books! The event, benefiting the Riverfront Committee, was held today at Nesbitt Park in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The competitors were met with swift and very dark stained water conditions. While the river level was not extremely high, the flow rate made it difficult to fish from a kayak, and the river was on the rise through the day.

The winner was Louette Ortenzi, from Lebanon. With the challenging conditions, her 14.5″ smallmouth helped her to go home with a prize pack from YakAttack and Backwater Paddle Company.
